What we collect
We keep things minimal. HoldOut has no accounts and no sign-in. Your hold records and personal bests are stored on your own device in your browser’s local storage — clearing your browser data clears them, and we never see them tied to you. When you finish a hold we may send an anonymous entry (which hold and how long it lasted) so the site can show a collective daily count; it carries no name, no account and no identifier for you.
Shared medals
If you choose to share a personal best, the medal is encoded into the link itself (or stored as a short, anonymous snapshot of the hold, the time and the date) so that anyone opening the link sees the same card. A shared medal contains no personal information beyond what the card shows, and sharing only ever happens when you tap Share, Copy link or Download.
Advertising & cookies
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. In regions where consent is required, Google’s certified consent management platform asks for your choice before any advertising or measurement cookies are set, and you can change that choice at any time. You can also opt out of personalised advertising via Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to measure aggregate, anonymous usage — page views and which features get used — so we can improve the site. Analytics storage also respects the consent choice you make above.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
You can accept or reject cookies at any time, and you can clear them in your browser. Because we hold no account data about you, most of your records are already entirely in your own hands. We do not sell personal information.
